Face skin care

Many skin specialists say that face skin care involve few important steps which should be followed regularly:

  • Cleansing,
  • Toning,
  • Exfoliating,
  • Moisturizing,
  • Sun-screening.

All above mentioned face skin care steps should not be used every day – only cleansing and moisturizing the face should be done every day in the morning and before going to bed.

If you follow all face skin care recommendations properly, your award would be beautiful, fresh, clean, attractive and sexy face skin during whole day.

Whether or not you need all face skin care four steps will depend on your skin type (oily, normal, combination, dry, sensitive or sun- damaged) and on your personal preferences.

Face skin Cleansing

Cleansing is an important part of routine face skin care. Majority of women wash/clean their face skin once a day but it is recommended to cleans face skin two times a day – morning face skin cleansing removes “night dirt” and extra oil from the skin; night face skin cleansing (before going to bed) removes face skin dust, grime, grease, pollution elements and makeup. Avoid washing your face very often throughout the day because you strip the skin of its natural oils. Don’t use face skin cleansing more than 2 times a day. If your face skin is dry, you can skip the morning cleansing.

Do you know how face Skin Cleansing should be done properly and correctly?

First, choose the right cleanser – your skin is very special and there is no single cleanser which can serve different types of skin. Try several cleansers and choose the best for your face skin. You need to find a good cleanser that your face skin responds well to, and stick with it. Just remember that the water-based cleansers are best for face skin because you can avoid chemicals which can trigger irritation and/or allergy. Most skin specialists recommend avoiding bar soaps as they tend to dry out face skin.

Second, wet your face skin and apply chosen cleanser on both the face and the neck. Better to massage the cleanser gently into the skin in an upward motion. Then rinse the face with warm water using clean hands or soft washcloth or cotton wool – always use a gentle touch and don’t rub your face skin too much.

Make sure to remove eye makeup with a proper makeup remover product (gentle). The area around the eye is delicate so don’t pull or rub too hard.

Never wash your face skin with very hot or very cold water because both could damage face capillaries.

Face skin Toning

Toning is the second step in face skin care daily routine – face skin toning can be done only once a day (better during morning face hygiene routine). If morning face skin cleansing was not enough, you can use face skin toning twice a day. For toning you can use toner pads or wipes (good quality). Face skin toners remove traces of dirt, grease or excess cleanser that has been left as residue on the face.

Market is full of face skin toners but best is the product for sensitive skin (gentle). Better avoid alcohol-based toners because sometimes they will strip away all the oil on the surface of your face, leaving the skin dry and irritated.

It is important to know that face skin toning is not changing the size of pores (not reducing the size of pores!) but proper regular daily face skin cleansing and exfoliating could help keep your skin pores clear, thereby improving their appearance over time.

Face skin Exfoliation

Face skin exfoliation is the third step in face skin care – it is actually the removal of old dead skin cells. Disappearance of face dead skin cells makes your face look younger – removing years off of your appearance. Face skin exfoliation is an important part of face skin care but it should not be done every day. Exfoliation is cleaning face skin from dead skin cells and it can be done only once a week. Our face skin is constantly renewing itself and shedding off dead cells. Unfortunately with aging the speed of our face skin renewal is slowing down resulting in “old”, dull, dreary skin tone. Actually naturally our face skin gets rid of dead skin cells regularly but face skin exfoliation helps to speed up the process. Removal of dead skin cells is important because they could block skin pores and trigger acne development.

Often face skin exfoliation could be harmful because normally face skin cells are replenished every 3-4 weeks and often exfoliation could damage new skin cells.

Face skin exfoliation could be done in different ways – physical or chemical – with facial scrubs, buffer pads, microdermabrasion, chemical peels and retinoids. Facial scrubs should be gentle on the skin and used once a week to remove the top layer of dead skin cells. If you can afford microdermabrasion or chemical peels schedule your appointments for once a month.

Face skin Moisturizing

Face skin moisturizing is very important because it keeps the gentle face skin from drying out – it is actually skin re-hydration. Dry skin cells are usually lacking water and therefore overly dry skin can lead to increased skin cell death. Dry face skin can be painful, itchy and unappealing to the eye. Moisturized face skin will lock in the moisture throughout the day leaving your skin looking fresh and youthful. Thanks to moisturizing you can avoid unpleasant wrinkles and/or cracks. The moisturizing keeps face skin radiant and glowing.

Face skin moisturizing should be done when skin is warm and damp because this is when the pores are open. Moisturizing can be done any time you feel dry skin (morning and/or evening). Select your face skin moisturizing product properly – without any harmful chemicals, fragrances or dyes that can irritate the skin.

If you have oily face skin, you don’t need additional skin moisturizing but you can moisturize around your eyes. If you have normal face skin, you better use oil-free moisturizer that won’t clog your skin pores. If you have dry face skin, you would need often moisturizing.

 Face skin sun-screening

Nowadays everybody knows that sun can easily damage our face skin – sun is the number one cause of wrinkles and dehydration. So, for keeping your face skin healthy – apply good quality sunscreen whenever you will be in the sun.

Some face skin moisturizers contain sunscreen – so, check before using separate sun-screening. When choosing a sunscreen, make sure it contains Mexoryl or Helioplex (best protectors).

Face skin care with natural products

Market is full of face skin care products – it is multi-billion dollar/euro industry. How to choose the right products? How face skin care can be done with natural products?

Natural skin care products are best for your face skin care – natural products avoid harsh chemicals and dyes that can irritate the skin and cause breakouts.

Always select face skin natural products based upon your own skin type. If you want to avoid irritation, allergy or any side effects, always test selected skin care products on your forearm, earlobe or neck before you buy them.

Always remember to remove all makeup before starting your skin care routine.
