Pheromones (airborne chemical messengers)

According to scientists, women and men are able in fact send and receive subconscious odor signals to each other. Actually, women and men can communicate unconsciously through very specific chemical signals called pheromones (phero-mones). Some people call them “airborne chemical messengers” released by body mainly through skin, sweat, urine and saliva.

Animals identify (smell) pheromones through specific “organ” located inside the nose – it called “vomeronasal organ” (VNO). Usually pheromone signals picked up by VNO and sent to specific zone in brain – zone responsible for emotions, hormones, reproduction and sexual behavior.

The confirmation of active human pheromones was described in 1998 by Dr. Martha McKlintock, who described synchronized menstrual periods of women living together (check “McClintock effect – Periods Synchronized”). Human “airborne chemical messengers” work through brain that control mood, hormones and sexual behavior. Scientists noted changes in mood, heart rate, breathing and body temperature.

We should recognize that there are mechanisms beyond our control and we don’t know everything about pheromones but it is clear that pheromones are very delicate messengers between human – it is actually another way of communication. According to science, women and men are attracted to each other due to pheromones (selective chemical messengers). They are magic arousal-stimulating chemicals that signal sexual desire, sexual readiness, hormone levels, fertility and the deepest emotions.

There are many debates concerning pheromones attraction but most scientists agreed that “airborne chemical messengers” increase physiological arousal in humans. It is difficult to believe that something which cannot be consciously smelled, is actually controlling our sexual behavior. We think we are controlling our life but in reality, we are not. Scientists suggest that there could be another sensory system in human body which cannot be identified yet because of weak technologies.

Human pheromones are sex-specific and sexual orientation-specific – it means “airborne chemical messengers” are heterosexual. Men pheromones attract women and female pheromones attract men. Paradoxically, homosexual men respond to male pheromones in the same way as heterosexual females.

Male phero-mones not only attract women but also can affect menstrual cycle by accelerating and increasing women fertility. Research found that phero-mones stimulate regular sex which decreases fertility problems in women, regulates menstrual cycles and correlates with a milder menopause.

Phisycal appearance is very important for humans (especially for men) but the power of phero-mones shouldn’t be underestimated. In close proximities, human phero-mones play very special role in socio-sexual behaviors. According to experts, some axillary steroids have potential pheromone power:

  • Androstenol is the putative female pheromone which has the influence at menstrual cycle;
  • Androstenone is type of pheromone which is secreted only by men for women attraction and women mood (with highest sensitivity during ovulation);
  • Androstadienone has positive reaction in women by improving mood. It has been demonstrated to affect hormone levels, physiological arousal, mood and sexual orientation.

Modern commercial companies use results of all scientific studies and produce pheromones for women and men. Nowadays women can buy and use phero-mones which attract men and men can use phero-mones for women attraction. Phero-mones could make us more attractive to potential mates by bringing out our best qualities and allowing us to appear more self-assured and relaxed.

Millions of women want and try to be attractive and phero-mones can act as powerful catalysts of sexual attraction. Commonly “airborne chemical messengers” are secreted through perspiration and they are subconsciously detected by nose, brain and nervous system. Only about 8-10% of males produce significant amounts of androsterone (powerful pheromone) that seems to give them “sex appeal”. This type of men may not be clever or handsome or successful or sexy but through pheromone-release they send out powerful signals of attraction.

Scientists have found that women secrete very specific attracting pheromone from vagina. The strength of vaginal pheromone could be changed depending on days of menstrual cycle (actually depending on hormones and vaginal secretion).

Pheromones therapeutic effect

Several studies confirm that phero-mones have more broad-ranging therapeutic effects and values as well. They can be used in cases of anxiety disorders, premenstrual syndrome in women, sexual dysfunctions and prostate enlargement in men. Many functions of phero-mones are not known but people who use them noted additional benefits:

  • Sudden valuable relaxation and ease,
  • Decreased anxiety,
  • Strengthened self-confidence,
  • Happiness and optimism,
  • Improved working relationships,
  • Increased romantic feelings and romantic relationships,
  • Improved mood and attractiveness,
  • Decreased social conflicts,
  • Positively transformed sexual relations,
  • Increased sense of well-being.

Future studies will clarify many details about these magic badly known “airborne chemical messengers”.
