Vaginal scent (unique female smell)

Each woman has unique vaginal bacterial environment and specific vaginal secretion from glands. All together the collection of different intimate smells appears as female vaginal scent. Intimate hygiene is crucial. Routine daily washing (two times per day) is the first step for keeping vagina clean and nice smelling. Women usually choose favorite soaps (preferably unscented soaps) or special products with neutral pH value. If woman use same washing product, she contribute to her personal unique vaginal scent. Avoid harsh deodorizing soaps and exfoliating bars which can change your natural unique intimate smell and taste.

Intimate hygiene includes also hair shaving or waxing. Intensive pubic hairs could cause unpleasant sweating which cause specific odor. Modern women properly take care of pubic hair – choosing fashionable pubic hair styles, bikini waxing styles and modern bikini hair removal. Clean hair-free skin around vagina is very important. Important point is personal cleaning habits after urination and toilet use. It is recommended to use wet baby wipes (soft and gentle) after each trip to the toilet – it will eliminate urine and feces smell. Always wipe from front to back after bowel movements (avoiding bacteria transformation from anus to vagina).

Vaginal douching should be avoided. Healthy vagina has naturally occurring bacterial environment which includes specific bacteria, protozoa and yeasts. Frequent douching usually changes the pH (acid-alkaline coefficient). This can upset the natural balance in the vagina making women more prone to vaginal infections.

Vaginal ventilation

It is well known that bacteria feel very comfortable and thrive in damp environment choosing commonly body skin folds (especially in obese women). This is why women always should keep intimate zones and bikini line clean and dry (not sweating). For insuring vaginal proper ventilation, it is recommended to wear natural cotton (breathing) underwear and avoid fancy synthetic fabrics. It is also would be recommended to wash personal laundry with detergents that do not contain any additional fragrances that would compete with natural vaginal scent.

Eating habits

Different foods consumption always contributes to vaginal scent. It was noted that vegetarian women have better vaginal smell compared with meat eaters. Depending on food preferences, you can smell like tasty dessert or like fishy soup. You can achieve best vaginal scent if you choose daily diet full of yoghurt, almonds, honey, pineapples, celery, red grapes, cranberry juice, watermelon and lots of water.

Avoid any food that cause smelly farts, bad breath or foul smelling pee. Avoid beer, coffee, durian, spicy food, alcohol, asparagus, garlic and raw onion.

Vaginal perfume

Vaginal perfume could contribute positively only if you have healthy vagina and normal natural vaginal scent. In cases of bad unpleasant vaginal smell, all kinds of perfume, deodorants or sprays can worsen the smell. Sometimes vaginal perfume can mask the smell but it is just temporary solution.

Vaginal infections

Almost all women experience different kinds of vaginal infection at certain period of life (especially during reproductive period of life from 16 to 45). Most common infections are yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis or sexually transmitted diseases. During vaginal infections always women notice change of vaginal scent because of unusual vaginal discharge, foul odor and inflammation. In-time adequate treatment can stop not only unpleasant symptoms but also unpleasant odor. Special attention should be paid to recurrent infections such as recurrent yeast infection, recurrent urinary tract infections and recurrent bacterial vaginosis.
