In XXI century millions of people are fighting cancer and there are several safe natural remedies which can become a part of difficult complicated cancer treatment.
We are not supporting people who are trying to replace the traditional cancer treatment with natural remedies but several safe natural remedies can strengthen our body, improve some cancer treatment methods and even can kill some cancer cells without damaging healthy cells of the body.
Graviola is well known plant – actually it is the most active effective component of soursop (small evergreen tree native to tropical regions). The most active effective component of soursop called Annona muricata or Graviola – thought to be a type of plant compound (phytochemical) called annonaceous acetogenins. Graviola has been part of the natural and traditional medicine for centuries in Central and South America as well as in the Caribbean.
Different parts of Graviola have extremely wide range of medicinal properties.
Traditional medicines use leaves from the graviola tree for treating conditions such as cancer and infections.
Old manuscripts confirm that fruit or juice of the plant can reduce fever, counteract diarrhea and dysentery, and kill worms and other parasites. Seeds also have antiparasitic properties and are used traditionally as a remedy for lice. The bark, leaves and roots can be made into a soothing medicinal tea, taken as a sedative or an antispasmodic. Graviola leaves are used topically to speed the healing of wounds. Graviola tea proved to be effective in reducing increased blood pressure. Fruits of soursop can be used as effective digestive aid.
During last decade many publications highlight the anticancer property of Graviola pretending that Graviola has cytotoxic effect on tumors and cancer cells.
Few scientific projects were conducted at Purdue University in Indiana and studies were concentrated on the antitumor properties and selective toxicity of annonaceous acetogenins. In 1997, the Purdue team announced that these phytochemicals, in studies, appeared especially effective at destroying cells that had survived chemotherapy.
Graviola tea from leaves
The leaves of the graviola tree have powerful anticancer properties coming from phytochemicals in the plant. Graviola tea made from leaves is recommended for cancer prevention or as an additional component for cancer survival. The journal “Cancer Letters” published a study looking at the impact of graviola on pancreatic cancer. Supplementing with graviola stopped cancerous pancreatic tumor cells from replicating and caused them to die. Researchers suggest this natural medicine may prevent and treat cancer. The leaves may also be useful for treating skin cancer when applied topically.
Generally speaking there is no scientific evidence to show that graviola works as a cure for cancer in human. But at the same time, in laboratory studies (test-tube experiments) graviola extracts can kill some types of liver and breast cancer cells that are resistant to particular chemotherapy drugs.
Skeptical analysts point out that test-tube experiments are only a preliminary stage in cancer research, and it is therefore premature to ascribe a potent anticancer effect to graviola. Nevertheless, one study claimed that graviola was 10,000 times more effective against cancer than the well-known chemotherapy drug Adriamycin.
Graviola is best known for its anti-cancer properties. Researchers are very enthusiastic about Graviola being an alternative medicine to be used as supportive therapy for cancers, such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and lymphoma. It is one of the most studied properties of the tree and so far it has shown positive results.
Graviola tea can be used daily and never can damage your health BUT can prevent cancer or kill cancer cells.
