Nuts are an excellent natural source of vitamins, minerals, proteins, healthy fats and fiber. In addition, anticancer properties of nuts make them more important for general health and cancer prevention. Anticancer nuts are recommended by several scientists and these recommendations are based on science. If we don’t use enough nuts and seeds, we weaken our body anticancer immunity.
Compared to non-nut eaters, people who ate at least 10 grams a day had a 23% lower chance of death from any cause. They were 17% less likely to die from heart disease, 21% less likely to die from cancer, 30% less likely to die from diabetes, and 47% less likely to die from neurodegenerative diseases, according to the study, which was published in the International Journal of Epidemiology.

It should be mentioned that healthy cells’ anti-cyanide enzymes can work only against small amount of cyanide. In addition, amygdalin is also able to inhibit tumor angiogenesis – if the blood flow to the tumor is blocked, cancer cells stop developing or die. At the same time, amygdalin induces apoptosis of cancer cells (cells self-suicide).
Anticancer nuts – Brazil nuts
Brazil nuts main beneficial property is high content of selenium which cannot be synthesized in human body and must be supplied with food. Furthermore Brazil nuts contain essential amino acid methionine which promotes the absorption of selenium.
Brazil nuts contain also essential amino acids, essential fatty acids (omega-3, omega-6), iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium, manganese, copper, potassium, phosphates, phosphorus, riboflavin, flavonoids, thiamin, niacin, choline, betaine and vitamins E, C and B-complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9).
