Young girls starting from puberty and women get concerned if they have unwanted hair – excessive dark or dense hair growth (called “hirsutism”) on their face or any other part of the body including facial hair and pubic and bikini hair. In women hirsutism may be caused by hormonal changes at puberty, pregnancy, irregular periods, menopause, stress, or it may be genetic or a result of some drug use. Sometimes hirsutism could be a side effect of steroid creams or hormone pills which are used for treatment of other health conditions.
You can discover all possible hirsutism causes on next page. Please pay special attention to Ferriman-Gallwey Score, Hirsutism Constitutional, Hirsutism Idiopathic and Hirsutism Treatment (medical).
In this chapter you can discover some home remedies for hirsutism (unwanted hair) which were recommended by different professionals and experts. All suggestions should be tested for each person on small area of skin. Young girls and women could be sensitive to some methods.

Make a sugaring solution at home to remove hair. Mix 2 cups of sugar, one-quarter cup of water and one-quarter cup of lemon juice in a pan and heat on medium until the consistency is smooth. Let it cool to a touchable temperature. To remove hair, dust the area with flour or cornstarch. Apply a thin layer of the solution in the direction of hair growth. Then press one to one and one-quarter inch cotton strips on the skin, rub and wait. When the solution cools and hardens, pull the cloth in the opposite direction of hair growth. Repeat two or three times.
The unused solution can be stored in an airtight container which can be put in hot water to melt it when you want to use it next time.
