Bikini waxing is important for having perfect bikini line. Actually it is normal routine which removes all unwanted hair from bikini line and from pubic area. Women are different and female hair could be thick or tine, black or blond, intensive or rare. Every woman should develop her own strategy for keeping bikini line in perfect condition (clean, smooth and hair-free). Some women need bikini waxing every 1-2 months but some women need to remove unwanted hairs every week or even every few days. Some women prefer bikini shaving or hair removal creams. Others prefer bikini waxing for best results.
Before starting bikini waxing, first, you need to decide your pubic hair style (check on next page) and identify the zone for waxing. Once you try bikini waxing, you will never use any other method for hair removal on bikini line.
Bikini waxing – what you need to know
It is very private procedure which can be performed naked. So, choose the right place for full privacy.
During at least one day before waxing wear only simple cotton underwear and loose cloths (no tight synthetic underwear, tight jeans or tight cloths).
Hot bath or shower before waxing will prepare your skin for smooth waxing.
Bikini waxing can be painful. If you are very sensitive to pain, better take pain killer in advance (30-40 minutes before procedure).
During bikini waxing you should be fully relaxed. Some women prefer meditation before procedure.
Bikini zone should not be shaved at least 5-6 days before waxing (best is one week).
Bikini waxing styles
Bikini line waxing can be successful only if unwanted hairs are about 0.5-0.6 cm. If your bikini hairs are longer, you should trim them in advance. If hairs on bikini zone are shorter, better to postpone waxing date.
Total duration of bikini line waxing can be 15-20 minutes.
During first 24 hours after bikini line waxing sexual activities, intensive sport (sweating) and bikini skin touching is not recommended. Mentioned activities could trigger bikini line irritation.
During first 2-3 days after waxing avoid direct sunlight. So, if you are planning holidays at beach, better plan waxing in advance.
In general, after waxing synthetic tight underwear and cloths are not recommended (at least during 1-2 days).
It would be strongly recommended to apply special post-waxing cream right after waxing procedure – it will make bikini skin smooth and will prevent ingrown hairs, irritation and ugly bikini bumps.
Bikini waxing – recommendation
Avoid waxing during menstrual period and during premenstrual period (very sensitive and irritating time of menstrual cycle). Best time for bikini waxing is few days after period and few days before expected menstrual period.
If it is your first bikini waxing, first, test it on small zone of skin (for avoiding allergic reactions or hypersensitivity) and second, start from simple basic bikini waxing (avoiding full Brazilian or Hollywood style).
Skin exfoliation before waxing should be done the day before (preferably in shower) – it will remove dead skin, allowing the wax to grip shorter hairs.
Bikini skin exfoliation after waxing can be performed only 5-7 days after waxing.
Always choose high quality waxing kits with proper instructions and all needed tools.
Try deep breathing or relaxation (thinking about pleasant things) during wax pulling. Having hair pulled from the lower abdomen area is more painful than it is from other zones.
